Gamification

Gamification is an emerging methodology that consists of using games or game mechanics in a non-ludic contexts, thus providing education in line with students’ motivation. In the context of ERASDG, a workshop, “How to save water” using Gamification, was developed and implemented by EUROPEA-Spain with the participation of ERASDG students and teachers from 4 countries. The real-life workshop challenge was prepared in close cooperation with farmer Alfonso Chico de Guzmán. Subsequently, based on the Spanish experience, the Gamification format was tested by Polish ERASDG-partner EUROPEA-Polski.

For the students' work with the SDGs using Gamification, inspiration can be found in the following tried and tested materials:

1. A short introduction to Gamification in 9 different languages

2. An example of a workshop program using Gamification

3. An overview of the 4 real-life challenges that the students were faced with

4. An overview of the students’ responses to the challenges (with links to Youtube)

5. Feedback from the relevant ERASDG testing partner
